Executive Chairman - PC (Pete) Smith
    

Pete is the FairChoice founder.  He attended Australia�s famed James Ruse Agricultural High School. After a eight years as a journalist, Pete joined the Australian Regular Army as a specialist PR officer and after various secondments to Cavalry, Infantry, Artillery and Explosive Ordnance Demolition he became press officer (Army) Defence Central before resigning a tri-service role (Navy, Army, Air Force) in Adelaide. Since leaving the Regular Army as a Major in 1988 Pete has held General Manager and Executive Director roles in a range of industries including agricultural R&D, tertiary education, mining and infrastructure. He was previously head of global marketing and communications for Leighton Holdings� subsidiary Thiess Pty Ltd (the world�s largest mining contractor and a major Australian infrastructure developer). He is a former Director of Marketing of the Royal Automobile Assoc of SA and a former Executive Director of Charles Sturt University. For the three years of Australia�s wheat industry deregulation, he consulted to AWB (Constitutional Reform, Reputation Management and Grain Acquisition) and has advised BlueScope Steel (emissions trading) and Australia Post ( technology change management issues prior to their entry into digital services). In 2007 and to a lesser extent in 2012, Pete was instrumental in securing a total of $500 million in two blocks of industry and government funding for Dairy Australia Ltd.  He was one of the key figures in the 2012 restructure of the Victorian Government′s urban renewal authority, Places Victoria and in 2014 played a major role in capturing community sentiment into the creation (or otherwise) of a coal seam gas industry in Victoria. Despite having resigned from the Regular Army, he retains an ongoing interest in national security. Pete worked with the world′s leading online security company ISS (now IBM Network Security); he was the Senior Media Liaison Officer and Chief of Staff (Media) with Queensland Police Service during CHOGM and he remains a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Australian Navy (R). Pete flies a high performance RV8a sports aircraft and has an aviation facility at Portland Victoria.

Linking Melbourne Authority which has the responsibility for overseeing the planning and delivery of complex road projects in Melbourne. Duncan is the former Chief Financial Officer of Australia�s leading foods, tourism, hospitality and events training institution � where he was instrumental in seeing through business plans for national and international growth and in establishing a new scholarship fund and an ongoing foundation. Duncan had a senior role with an international agribusiness manufacturer and exporter and has broad experience across the finance, IT, marketing, management, strategy and corporate governance disciplines. He has held senior positions within the life insurance, real estate, agriculture, research and education industries. His qualifications and professional memberships are in finance/accounting, management and governance.
